Nice place for schnitzel for fair price and big portion. Friendly staff and good service. They don't accept card though in 2020!

Mediocre. The schnitzel is edible but nothing special, little taste, the fries, which according to the menu should have been fried potatoes, were absolutely not salted and there was no salt on the table. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really good either. The restaurant is quite quaint and cozy and the service is friendly.

Home at full throttle ... Ready-made mush from the bucket .. poorly tolerated food .. Just something for the hard stomach ...

The waitresses are extremely nice and very courteous every time. Every time I visit, that makes me very happy. I can only recommend this place! The location is really easy to get to! The good transport links make a visit quickly feasible. Inexpensive, diverse selection of dishes and drinks. My sister and I were really delighted to have found an inn in our area, which we can still afford at the end of the month without restriction.

Very nice. We didn't eat anything, but the portions at the other tables looked delicious. What was striking was that the food was there quickly.

I am happy to come here with my acquaintances for my part and can rely on being served expertly. Decorations on the tables and in the entire restaurant make sense and are stylish. The bathroom is always clean and all in all the restaurant gives a harmonious impression. The restaurant is nice all the time and we had a wonderful evening here. The selection of drinks my husband and I found to be perfect!

Nice traditional Brauhaus in Mainz downtown.The environment is welcoming,familiar and kind. Good quality beers selction.The food proposal is based on "schnitzel"with different toppings and sauces,quality of the meat is ok altough not exceptional.Very good crispy baked potatos.

I was completely surprised by the good food. I would not have expected when I saw the restaurant from the outside. The food tastes very good and can also be paid for. The sun plate with three different types of meat is excellent. The many schnitzel variants are also recommended. The service is very friendly.

Brauhaus zur Sonne is always fantastic! They have always treated us well and are welcoming every night! I’ve enjoyed many delicious meals here including Christmas Eve dinner. The food is excellent. There are plenty of choices on the menu and they are very accommodating, allowing you to substitute different sides and options for your meal. Additionally, they have Andechs on draft which is one of the best biers in Deutschland! I will always recommend Brauhaus zur Sonne.

Jaegerschnitzel, salmon, esparagus are some favorites. Always consistently good. I am reviewing my review. Saturday, they need to hire extra help. They are overwelmed. Not being able to keep up with extra sauce?

Reached there when they were about to close so only few items of the menu were available, very friendly place the waiters were very welcoming and gave excellent service the food arrived in about 10 minutes and it was super delicious

Outstanding little restaurant in downtown area. The chicken schnitzel is heavenly, in the white peppercorn sauce. Great service, and a good selection of beers. And the cost of dinner is extremely reasonable. One of my favorite places to eat.

This is "the" place to eat when we come to Mainz for work. The portions are huge, the price reasonable, nice location, great customer service and the atmosphere you would envision while in Germany.

Have been a regular at Brauhaus Zur Sonne for many many years. Always enjoy their great food and service.

Food abundant and cheap, but sins in the presentation of the dish (a bit sad, see photos). The place is very noisy (I hope you do not meet the group that I had next to my table, very annoying cause screams) and really very tight. Quick in taking the order for drinks, but not so much in bringing them to the table. I did not appreciate at all that the waiter, after ordering a coke at mid-dinner, has completely forgotten (I'm waiting for it now) I enclose a photo of my order (taken from my instagram, for that the timetable is present)

I ordered the pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe) for only €10.90. Reasonably priced, friendly staff, big portions and delicious food! Very worth it. Preisgünstiges, freundliches Personal, große Portionen und lecker.

I had the Christmas special, Goose drum with chestnut sauce, potato dumplings, and pickles beets. Best thing I've ever had in Europe. Decent price too!
